GALVANIZED STEEL COILS

Galvanized Steel Coils

The manufacturing process of galvanized steel coils involves several stages:

  • Material Preparation:

   – Raw steel coils are sourced and inspected for quality.

   – The coils undergo a cleaning process to remove any impurities or contaminants.

  • Hot-Dip Galvanizing:

   – Coils are immersed in a bath of molten zinc, typically at a temperature around 450°C.

   – The zinc coating bonds to the steel, providing corrosion resistance.

   – This process is known as hot-dip galvanizing and ensures uniform coating.

  • Cooling and Inspection:

   – The galvanized coils are cooled to solidify the zinc coating.

   – Inspection is performed to check for uniformity, thickness, and adherence of the coating.

  • Skin Pass Rolling:

   – The coils may undergo a skin pass rolling process, which improves surface finish and flatness.

  • Chemical Treatment :

   – Some manufacturers apply passivation chemicals to enhance corrosion resistance and appearance.

  • Coil Cutting and Packaging:

   – The galvanized coils are cut into sheets or strips according to customer specifications.

   – The final products are then packaged for shipment.
